We the People 2024
Independence Day, Nevada City
I have always had to work hard to make my way. Sometimes I push, convince or exhaust myself to achieve what I want.
But when I write song lyrics, I don’t have to do this. I feel as though I fall into a sanctuary of service to my heart, as though I am swimming with the current, swept up in pictures and rhymes that seem to flow and… poof! … a new song is witnessed.
And so it was with this new song, “We the People”. A week before our Day of Independence, this song came. I could not help what flowed forth. The rhymes tell the tale: Kennedy, integrity, family, urgency, democracy, the lands, the rivers and the sea. My respect for Mister Kennedy's character and conviction overflowed, and before I knew it, I was singing a three day old song to a group of local Kennedy folk rallying to walk the Fourth of July Parade.
A few days later, I was sitting atop a mint-green MG leading banners of support, and calling out my message to the people.
Then, a few days after that, the song was launched on all major music services.
It has been a wild ride already, and I believe we are not done. This tune is going to hum its way into the hearts of Americans. It needs to be heard and sung in expansive, open and amplified spaces because it is part of something wild and passionate, a new course set to change the history of this country. May this song be of service to you, Mister Kennedy, and bring your integrity into a place of heart leadership. We need your kind of strength, wisdom, intelligence, and moral compass at the helm. We need your impact and focus on making this country safe and free for our children and our grand children.
America, you are the land of the free, be brave and cast your vote for…

Song Stories
Since starting our Off the Hook tour… which is the fancy way of saying, we played at local farmer’s markets and festivals… I’ve been writing new songs and sharing them, mixing these new stories with Off the Hook and older songs that I have yet to release.
Together with my recording engineer and musical partner, I ventured down various roads, always with the question, how do we share this vast body of songs, and the tales they tell, with the world? There are so many themes, so many threads…
So instead of trying to encapsulate them into some predetermined or dictated ethos, we have finally chosen to give each a life of its own: anthologized here, maybe forever. Hope you enjoy this preview of Song Stories One.

I was born in Africa before I marched to America. I came seeking for freedom and a place to raise my family. And now, my debut album! Dedicated to those who bloom later, love deeper, and are unafraid to wrinkle in the process. I am so delighted that I’m only getting started…
